Website: Arctic Bites
Quick Background:
Started in 2016, Arctic Bites is located in the heart of Toronto. It is known for serving handcrafted and streets of Thailand inspired ice cream rolls. In a gist, the ice cream is made into rolls and embellished with a variety of toppings that compliment the flavour of ice cream.
As their website states, each roll is made in front of the customers using cold plates that reach up to -20 degrees Celsius. Arctic Bites highlights a visual experience, where you can watch them make your custom rolls right in front of your eyes, As a result, no two cups are ever the same. It takes about 2-4 minutes to make depending on the type of ice cream you order.
Fun fact: Arctic Bites dubs these as "Polarolls" because it signifies the sub-zero temperature it is it served at.
Review:
The place is always packed, there's always a line - which means only one thing: they're doing something right.
I went on a cold day and the place still had a line-up to the door. We got 3 different flavours: "love at first bite" (which is strawberry ice cream), "thai me up" (thai tea ice cream) and "taro with a twist" (taro coconut ice cream).
Although the ice cream takes shape as a roll, there really is no differences in taste. Once again, the roll does not change how the ice cream tastes in any way and is honestly just for the "insta". Which leads me to say: don't cross this place off! The ice cream flavours is what really sells this place! As stated earlier, most of these ice cream flavours are all unique and not your typical ice cream flavours. There is a lot of "oriental" flavours to try and honestly, trying one unique flavour had me wanting to try all of them.

VERDICT: If you want a cute instagram photo, it doesn't get any better than this. Not only do you get a "show", it's a unique experience to watch your server make your ice cream! Also, the ice cream flavours are good, so that's a bonus.
